LEONARDO
DA VINCI
Leda - 1510/15 - Galleria Borghese, Rome |
| |
A
bit of history:
LEONARDO
(Leonardo da Vinci, 1452 - 1519) |
"Leonardo
da Vinci was like a man who awoke too early in the
darkness, while the others were all still asleep"
(Sigmund Freud) |
 |
Leonardo da Vinci was
a Florentine artist, one of the great masters of
the High Renaissance, who was also celebrated as
a painter, sculptor, architect, engineer, and scientist.
His profound love of knowledge and research was
the keynote of both his artistic and scientific
endeavors. His innovations in the field of painting
influenced the course of Italian art for more than
a century after his death, and his scientific studies,
particularly in the fields of anatomy, optics, and
hydraulics, anticipated many of the developments
of modern science.
|
 |
An especially notable
characteristic of Leonardo's paintings is his landscape
backgrounds, into which he was among the first to
introduce atmospheric perspective. As a scientist
Leonardo towered above all his contemporaries.
His scientific theories, like his artistic innovations,
were based on careful observation and precise documentation.
He understood, better than anyone of his century
or the next, the importance of precise scientific
observation.
|
 |
A creator in all branches of art, a discoverer in
most branches of science, and an inventor in branches
of technology, Leonardo deserves, perhaps more than
anyone, the title of Homo Universalis, Universal
Man.

Welcome to RED BOTTLE,
a web site based on fine wines (and fine arts too).
We represent a group of carefully selected
small Italian Boutique Wineries. By this combination
excellent fine wines are offered to the market that
cannot be obtained otherwise.
To our importers, RedBottle marketing delivers a consolidated
approach to the new and traditional producers of Italy.
Our stable presence in Italy means not only that we
have our ears out for what is happening, but that
we are actively involved in many projects that are
off to a healthy start.
While we conceive of ourselves as facilitators in
the network, we encourage the direct contact between
importer and producer. RedBottle provides the accuracy
in communication between the two and offers professional
support to speed up important processes such as label
approval, export consulting and shipping logistics.
You will find here only products made with
quality and traditional methods that other countries
can not guarantee.
Our web site, provides our long distance partners
with immediate readings on every wine marketed by
us. Extensive data and imagery on all producers and
wines, helps to generate credibility and success on
every RedBottle product.
How we choose our wines:
QUALITY - Every winery listed on our
catalog has been visited and these conditions have
been accurately verified:
1) vines must be owned by
the producer
2) grape selection is made during harvest
3) accurate hygiene of plants and cellars
4) low yelds and better quality
5) traditional winemaking
6) good quality corks
TASTING - Our
tasting staff is composed mainly by people owning
an AIS (Italian Associaton of Sommeliers) degree,
a cook and a member of the Italian Institute of Food
Science and Technology. Tasting is made following
these criterias:
1) fisrt taste is made at
producer's cellars
2) a second taste is performed on samples
3) we use standard ISO/AIS tasting glasses
4) we evaluate color, bouquet and taste
5) wine is served at a correct temperature
6) we follow only our individual taste
SELECTION -
We make a selection of not only the wineries but also
of the wines they produce as we professionally taste
every wine, so we can guarantee:
1) selected wines (from the
same winery)
2) exclusion of low quality vintages
3) selected and professional wineries
4) undiscovered high quality products
5) modern and traditional regional varieties
6) convenient prices
